Frank Tate made plans for the holiday village in September 1991, allowing more tourists to visit the village. Construction was delayed in January 1992 when a digger accidentally cut a power line, causing an explosion. However, the village was completed and opened later that year.
Rudding Park Holiday Park on the outskirts of Harrogate, North Yorkshire was used as the location of Home Farm Holiday Village on and off between 1992 and 2002. During the construction of the Rudding Golf Club, Yorkshire TV used the site as the main location of the plane crash site in 1993.
