Hotten Academy (formally Hotten Comprehensive) is the high school in Hotten that of many of the Emmerdale residents attend. The school was first established as a school in 1869, and moved site at least once, taking over the land that once occupied Hotten Grange Children's Home.
There is a plaque at the academy in memory of former headteacher Miss Strickland, who died in September 2001 in a hit and run accident, with the occupants of the car being some of her pupils at the time.
