Jane Hardcastle was the schoolfriend of Jackie and Sandie Merrick. Jackie and Jane also had a relationship, but it didn't last. In 1981, Jackie and Sandie took Jane to a disco in the village hall, however, the music was too out of date as Donald Hinton played records from his son Clive's record collection. Everyone was disappointed with the disco, except for Jane who thought it was great.
