Jenna-Louise Coleman (born 27th April 1986 in Blackpool, Lancashire) is an English actress who portrayed Jasmine Thomas in Emmerdale from June 2005 to March 2009.

After leaving Emmerdale, Coleman went on to appear in Waterloo Road, Captain America: The First Avenger, Titanic, Room at the Top, and Dancing on the Edge, but achieved international success for her role as the companion, Clara Oswald, in the long-running BBC science-fiction series Doctor Who, on which she appeared from 2012 to 2015, with a guest appearance in 2017. In the spring of 2013, Coleman shortened her professional name to Jenna Coleman.

After leaving Doctor Who, Coleman took on the role of Queen Victoria in the ITV series Victoria, that debuted in 2016; a second aired in 2017.

In 2022, she portrayed Johanna Constantine in the Netflix fantasy drama series The Sandman. Coleman's other film appearances include Jamie Childs' thriller Jackdaw in 2023.

She next starred as police detective Ember Manning in the BBC One crime drama series The Jetty; she also acted as executive producer on the series.

She has been in a relationship with British director and filmmaker Jamie Childs since 2020 after meeting on the set of The Sandman. In June 2024, she announced they were expecting their first child together, who was born later in the year.
