Joanne Mitchell (born 30th July 1971) is an English actress who has appeared in four roles in Emmerdale:
- DS Karen Barnborough who investigated Zoe Tate's rape allegations against Scott Windsor in July 2003.
- Midwife Karen Yeo who looked after Samson Dingle in January 2006.
- CAFCASS officer Susan Davies in May and June 2009.
- Sandra Flaherty, taking over the role from Janet Bamford in February 2016, continuing in the role intermittently until September 2022.
Mitchell trained at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, and has had numerous television, radio and theatre roles including appearances in Coronation Street, Waterloo Road, Doctors, A Touch of Frost, Holby City and Caeser Price Our Lord.
Mitchell married fellow Emmerdale actor Dominic Brunt in 2003, and together they founded Mitchell-Brunt Films and produced a feature film Before Dawn, which Mitchell also appeared in.
