Jonny McPherson (born 4th January 1982 in Kingston upon Thames, Greater London) is an English actor who has portrayed Liam Cavanagh in Emmerdale since January 2014. McPherson appeared as Dr Cavanagh on a recurring basis between January 2014 and May 2018 before becoming a regular in July 2018. McPherson previously played the minor roles of:
- Doctor Jonathan Boam who looked after Donna Windsor-Dingle in September 2008 whist she was recovering from a car crash. (This was Jonny's first ever TV role)
- A Nurse who was on duty when Jackson Walsh was injured by a train in October 2010.
- An unnamed Doctor who tended Cain Dingle when he was attacked in December 2011. He also attempted to help pain killer addict Rhona Goskirk in August 2013.
His other television credits are Countdown to Revolution and Til Death.
McPherson was in a relationship with his Emmerdale co-star Natalie J Robb.
