Karl Davies (born 6th August 1982 in Stockport, Greater Manchester) is an English actor who portrayed Robert Sugden from August 2001 to October 2005, and returned briefly in February 2009 for on-screen dad Jack's funeral.
He is the third actor to play the character, after Richard Smith, who played Robert between the character's birth in 1986 until 1989 and Christopher Smith, who played Robert between 1989 and 2001. In 2014, Ryan Hawley took over the role of Robert after Davies decided not to reprise the role.
After leaving Emmerdale originally, Davies held a regular role in Kingdom with Stephen Fry. He has also appeared in Peak Practice, Game of Thrones, Midsomer Murders, Happy Valley and The Syndicate.
