Louise Pennington is the wife of George Pennington and the mother of Ruth Pennington. In October 1987, Louise and George discovered Ruth had been having an affair with Joe Sugden. As a result, they arrived in Beckindale to try to convince her to return to Ireland to marry her fiance Liam. They also had a few words with Joe, but were unable to convince Ruth to return.
