Mackenzie "Mack" Boyd is the long-lost younger brother of Moira Dingle, the father of Reuben Harris, and the husband of Charity Dingle.
Biography[]
c.1983-2020: Life before Emmerdale[]
Mackenzie was the second child of Ann Boyd and her husband, after Moira. Mackenzie was about twelve years Moira's junior. Mackenzie's childhood was marred by his father's alcohol-induced abuse, despite his mother's best efforts to keep him and Moira safe.
When Mack was six, Moira left home after taking the blame for their mother having an affair with their father's best friend. In Mack's eyes, this was Moira abandoning the family - though Moira herself believed her leaving would be the end of their father's abuse - and he developed a loathing for the sister he had once looked up to.
As he approached adulthood, Mackenzie often found himself on the receiving end of beatings from his father as he often tried defending his mother when fights broke out. Eventually Mr. Boyd died, and Mack had delved into the crime world, mostly dealing in stolen goods.
2020 to present: Arrival, reuniting with Moira, dodgy dealings and love triangle[]
In 2020, Mackenzie's mother fell terminally ill and she asked him to track down Moira so they could make amends.
On the outskirts of Emmerdale Village in Yorkshire, Mackenzie ran into a woman after his car broke down. The woman - Charity - fixed the car while flirting with Mackenzie, leading to them kissing. They were photographed by an unknown person, who subsequently handed the photos to Charity's fiancée, destroying their relationship.
In 2023, Mackenzie and Charity got married. However, things change when, after a one night stand, he is the father of Chloe Harris's baby. After Charity finds out and dumps Mackenzie, Mack and Chloe begin a relationship. They later get engaged after Chloe gives birth to their son Reuben Harris. However, when there is a car crash Mackenize lifts up Charity and leaves Chloe to die. Chloe then realises that Mackenzie loves Charity. Mackenzie then leaves Chloe for Charity, leading to Chloe slapping Charity. Chloe then flees the village with Reuben. Mack tries his best to win back Reuben and pleads help from Amy Wyatt and Matty Barton. However, this fails. When Chloe's dad Damon Harris finds out about Mackenzie's actions, he kidnaps Mackenzie.
