An unnamed man entered The Woolpack to buy a drink in November 1985. Amos Brearly believed he was the judge of the Lovable Landlords of the Year competition, which he and Henry Wilks were nominated for by Walter. Amos proceeded to list all the drinks The Woolpack had, ignoring the man's order of a tonic water. The next day, Henry mistakenly believed the man was with the group of noisy Home Farm shoot attenders and tried to throw him out. The man reveals he was actually the judge and left.
