A update about lockdown episode, Sam & Lydia episode will airs at Monday 8th June and Cain & Aaron episode will airs at Wednesday 10th June. The week after, Mandy & Vinny episode will airs at Monday 15th June and Nicola & Jimmy episode will airs at Wednesday 17th June. Nothing has been confirmed for Friday 19th June yet.
Depends on how it goes with the filming the six Lockdown episodes- even if they do return to normal filming after the six episodes, i think once we get to the 2nd half of June, they may have to go off air for a month or two in order to stockpile the episodes as in normal times, there would 6-8 weeks between filming and transmission.
An Update on Corrie-It seems they are going back on June 8th and are concentrating on finishing 8 episodes that were "half filmed" when the lockdown happened which will apprently give them an extra 3 weeks (up to around July 22nd/24th).
Nothing. They start filming now so the episodes will be finished to start airing right after they run out of pre-filmed episodes. They will probably just keep the three episodes a week for a while but won't have to go off-air.
I got a question what will happen if ITV runs out the episodes for both show or filming return in coming weeks time? Do you think from June, the show will not appear in ITV until new episodes is ready or carrying out as normal?
I don't know when BBC1 will runs out the episodes of EastEnders and Channel 4 will airs the remainder episodes of Hollyoaks until July...
From news article/website, ITV confirms Emmerdale and Corrie episodes will run out in just a few weeks. If the filming is not back on from coming weeks later, there is the chance the soaps will have less summer but more episodes to fill.
And even if they do get back to filming, they will still need to go off air so that they can stockpile the episodes again-In terms of Emmerdale, it's looking like Friday 29th May could be the day Emmerdale goes off air for the 3rd time in it's history.
ITV went on strike in 1979 and in 1981 which forced them off-air for a few months. In 1979 they went on a break in July and didn’t return until January and in 1981 they were off-air between November and January. After they came back on-air in 1980 they had Annie Sugden explain through a voiceover why it was still summer even though those episodes aired in January so if they get really out of sequence with broadcasting this time around they could end up doing something similar. You can read more on 1979 ITV Strike and 1981 ITV Strike. Emmerdale also used to take breaks during the summer for many years in the 70s and 80s so this wouldn’t be something new. They could handle this many different ways, either just continue where they left of once they get back to filming or include a time skip. We’ll just have to wait and see.
In answer to your question Ednasharon 24534, yes Luke was singing Happy Birthday when he washed his hands tonight so judging by this and this unusal occurrence next Wednesday (where scenes from Episodes 8789/8790 have been editied together but not as an hour-long episode, it looks like we're getting close to the point where they stopped filming back in March.)
Hi I think we should consider making Lucas a regular. I know he is nowhere near the 50 appearances limit but there are many children of regulars that get considered regulars long before they're anywhere near it (right now we have Theo, Eve and Harry who are all under but still listed as current characters). It seems pretty obvious he'll be sticking around with being Dawn's son, living in the village and starting school at Connelton Primary. Just think it's worth at least considering.
Extremely good point as althrough it would be 50 episodes for normal chracters. i don't think it applies child characters unless it's obvious in story terms they won't be sticking (where as in this case Lucas appears to be sticking around) -yep fine by me.
