Middlesbrough is a large industrial town on the south bank of the River Tees in North Yorkshire, north-east England, founded in 1830.
Jean and Arthur Kendall lived in Middlesborough with their daughter, Rosemary. Arthur was the nephew of Sam Pearson. In 1975, Sam and Annie Sugden visited them as Jean was suffering a mental breakdown. They returned with Rosemary who worked at the farm but later went back home in 1976.
