Ms Attwood is the consultant who met with Gail Loman in September 2023 about her son Oscar Grisham, who she gave up for adoption, who was diagnosed with aplastic anaemia. Attwood accompanied Gail to carry out a blood test to see if she is a match as a bone marrow donor. Attwood explained to Gail and Oscar's adoptive mom Sophie Grisham that the test results would take longer than a standard blood test as they need to be thorough. Attwood then explained to Gail the procedure of donating bone marrow.
