William Hatherwick "P.B" aka, Preston Bill, was an artist who painted a mural at The Woolpack in 1974. After he left, Amos Brearly noticed that PB had featured Amos and Henry Wilks in the mural. However the mural was later displayed in the pub. P.B. returned one final time in December 1975 to do some more painting for the pub, unaware that the pub was about to suffer from subsidence and had to move premises.
The mural that PB had previously painted was transferred to the new premises and hung on the ledge over the fireplace for many years afterwards. The mural was still extant in January 1994 but was either taken down or moved after the pub was damaged in the Plane Crash.
