Pete Collins was a lorry driver for Tate Haulage. He was born and raised in Liverpool. During his time in the village, Pete briefly dated Kathy Glover, and became friends with Frankie Smith who was the girlfriend of his boss's sister. Pete is killed in the bus crash of 2000, when the brakes fail on his lorry as Lisa Dingle hadn't finished repairing them. The lorry collides with a bus before toppling on top of it, killing Pete along with Patricia Holmes, Bob Simmonds, and later, Lisa's step-son Butch Dingle.
