Pete Collins was a lorry driver for Tate Haulage. During his time in the village, he became friends with Frankie Smith who was the girlfriend of his boss. Pete is killed in the bus crash of 2000, when the brakes fail on his lorry as Lisa Dingle hadn't finished repairing them. The lorry collides with a bus before toppling on top of it, killing Pete along with Patricia Holmes, Bob Simmons, and later, Lisa's step-son Butch Dingle.
