Phil Fletcher was the uncouth husband of Maggie and had a son Terry. Phil accidentally shot himself during a fight with Joe Sugden and tried to blame Joe, due to a dispute over money that stretched back 3 years. As Terry witnessed the scuffle he said the gun went off himself and when he did a reconstruction of the event he convinced the police and Joe was let off the hook.
