Ray Ashcroft (born 28th June 1952 in Sheffield) is an English actor who has had four roles in Emmerdale:
- A Drayman who delivered beer to The Woolpack in November 1985.
- Sergeant Hanway, who tried to free Viv Windsor and Shirley Turner from their captors in May and June 1994.
- DS Harry Metcalfe, who interfered in Eric Pollard's relationship with his wife Barbara in August and September 1995.
- Regular character Ronnie Marsden in 2003.
Prior to joining Emmerdale, Ray had a regular role in the long-running ITV police drama The Bill, playing D.S. Geoff Daly for four years between 1996 and 2000, previously appearing in the show in 1993 and 1994. has appeared in many other British TV shows such as Heartbeat, Doctors, Truckers and The Royal.
