Reg Dawson is the first husband of Viv Hope and father of Scott Windsor.
Reg, who abandoned Scott and Viv early in Scott's life, arrives in Emmerdale when he commits a robbery which turns into a siege at Home Farm. He kills one of his henchmen and Shirley Turner, who died after receiving a bullet intended for Viv. Reg is shot dead by a police marksman. In his will, he leaves Viv several thousand pounds, but a stipulation said she had to leave her current husband, Vic Windsor, to receive the money. She declines and stays with Vic.
