Rob Mallard (born Edward Robertson Mallard; 19th May 1992 in Manchester) is an English actor who portrayed Connor Jensen for a few episodes in September 2015. Before his role in Emmerdale, Rob appeared in the Channel 4 sitcom, Fresh Meat, and after he appeared on Emmerdale, Rob was offered the role of Daniel Osbourne in Emmerdale's fellow ITV soap, Coronation Street. He has played the character since November 2016, under Kate Oates, the very same producer who hired him to play Connor in Emmerdale.
When he was younger, Rob attended weekly drama classes between the ages of 12 and 17 and graduated from the Birmingham School of Acting with a First Class Honours in 2014. Rob came out as gay to his family at the age of 17, and luckily, his family supported him wholeheartedly. However, Rob only came out to the public in February 2017, in light of his Coronation Street character becoming partnered with a woman.
