Shane Chappell is the son of Brett Chappell, step-son of Elsa Chappell, and step-brother of Alice Bates.
In September 1999, Elsa returned to Engand to re-connect with her daughter, Alice, and was joined some weeks later by Brett and Shane. Shane got on very well with Alice and was delighted when she decided to return to Australia with them in November 1999.
