Stuart Blackburn is a former Series Producer and writer of Emmerdale. He has also written stories, scripts and story-edited for many major soaps and dramas such as The Bill, EastEnders, Coronation Street and Casualty.
Blackburn returned to Emmerdale as series producer in 2011 to replace the late Gavin Blyth. In October 2012 it was announced that Blackburn would once again return to Coronation Street in early 2013. By 2016, Blackburn was succeeded by Kate Oates and he returned to Emmerdale as a freelance writer, penning 17 episodes.
