Susan "Sue" Hastings met Rodney Blackstock at a posh restaurant where he plucked up the courage to introduce himself to her. They were getting along fine when Charlie Haynes told Sue that Rodney is a lawyer. Rodney did not deny it and soon enough he was caught up in a web of lies and didn't know what to do. Sue wanted to go to have dinner at the Grange in the village despite Rodney wanting to hide his cover as the restaurant was owned by Eric and Val Pollard. Sue asked some questions about his job, which caught him out. Sue knew about the law and he didn't which became apparent. She was angry about the lies, saying that she would have been happy with someone who was a deliveryman and subsequently stormed out.
