Susan Cookson (born 20th April 1965 in Manchester, Lancashire) is an English actress who has appeared Emmerdale in four roles:
- An unnamed garage attendant in February 1993.
- DC Fallon in August 1997.
- DI Judy Dove between December 2002 and January 2003.
- Wendy Posner, the mother of Victoria Barton's rapist, Lee Posner since July 2019.
Cookson is best known for playing Maggie Coldwell in the BBC medical drama Casualty regularly between 2005 and 2008 (with guest appearances in 2009 and 2015). She previously appeared in the show on a recurring basis as anesthetist Julie Day between 1998 and 2000. Her other television roles include Heartbeat, Band of Gold, Peak Practice, Coronation Street, City Central, The Cops, Holby City, Queer as Folk, Fat Friends, Clocking Off, Merseybeat, Blue Murder, Doctors, Bodies, The Royal, Waterloo Road, Land Girls, Mount Pleasant, Last Tango in Halifax, DCI Banks, Cold Feet and Hollyoaks.
Cookson was married to Malcolm Scates, who played three roles in the programme, from 1993 until his death in 2016.
