Very interesting info about Appleby Terrace. I assume it was destroyed in the plane crash. Easy to blame vanished Beckindale/Emmerdale buildings on that crash lol. Benny1982 (talk) 22:14, February 2, 2020 (UTC)

Yes, the village has certainly got smaller over the years. During the 1993 story in which Mark, Lorraine and Debbie made a village gossip sheet, Lorraine mentioned that there was 75 houses in the village. There's probably less than half now!

Interestingly, Carol and Lorraine appear to have had two addresses during their time in the programme, even though only one house was ever shown on screen. The first address was '6 Brabshaw Lane', as seen on the fake council bill that Lorraine sent as an April fool's joke. This was despite exterior shots of the house always having a number 7 clearly visible. 7 Appleby Terrace was the address that Carol gave to Vic Windsor several months later.

Up until that point, I'd always questioned whether or not Carol and Lorraine actually lived in Beckindale, even though everything prior to that suggested that they did, purely because the exterior of their house was definitely not in Esholt. However, I came across the location by pure chance on google maps, and it's not too far away from Sunnybank Mills, where they filmed the interior shots at the time. I wonder why they chose to film there as opposed to Esholt?

Yes, they could have used the terrace behind the church in Esholt, which was rarely, if ever, used as a location during Esholt days. I suppose the Farsley location for Appleby Terrace seemed more convenient for a few scenes. Benny1982 (talk) 17:13, February 6, 2020 (UTC)
