The Gyrotechnics were a band consisting of Maggie as the lead singer, Archie Brooks and Mike Conrad as guitarists and Jackie Merrick as a drummer. The band was founded in late 1983, and they wrote and performed rock music. They performed at the Beckindale Christmas Show in December 1983, however part way through their performance, Amos Brearly accidentally caused a power outage in the Village Hall.
